Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1. Depart Vancouver
Board your non-stop flight on Air Canada bound for Sydney. Departing late evening, after crossing the international dateline, arrive in Sydney early morning of day 3.

Day 3. Arrive Sydney
On arrival in Sydney, after clearing customs, you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to your accommodation at the InterContinental Hotel Sydney.

As Australia's largest city, Sydney embraces its harbour, taking the sea and natural waterways to its heart. The grand style of the Sydney Opera House has made the city the landmark of the South Pacific. Sydney, with some 4 million people is the oldest, biggest, and liveliest city in Australia. Sydney's facilities for sightseeing and holiday activities are unequalled by any other Australian city. It is a paradise for surfers, swimmers, yachtsmen, fishermen, and golfers. Full of history and great nightlife, the choice of things to do in Sydney is endless.

Tonight enjoy a Sydney Harbour Cruise with Dinner.
Cruise, dine and dance aboard Sydney's flagship MV Sydney 2000. This is the most popular Dinner Cruise and a must for special occasions, visitors to Sydney or for those who just love a great night out. Highlights include a contemporary a la carte menu, private dining rooms are available, a dance band, full bar facilities and upper deck star gazing.

Day 4. Blue Mountains Day Tour
You will be collected from your hotel this morning by Australia Eco Adventures in a small group vehicle. Travel to Featherdale Wildlife Park for visit before the park opens to the general public where you will meet the native animals including kangaroos, emus, wombats and dingoes. Depart the Park and travel to the Blue Mountains, stopping at Bilpin along the way for morning tea with home made apple pie. We will enjoy a nature stop at Mt Banks with stunning flora and views. From this point, cross the mountains and visit Hartley Vale where we explore areas and may find kangaroos in the wild. Next we stop at to Govetts Leap for the magnificent valley and waterfall views and then off to lunch at the Katoomba Golf Club. After lunch, travel to Jamison Valley for amazing mountain views. Continue to Cliff Drive to experience The "Three Sisters" where your guide will relate an Aboriginal Dreamtime story about this unusual rock formation, and a visit to the Scenic World attractions where you have the chance to ride the worlds steepest rail line and walk through ancient rainforest (own expense). Your last stop is at the new Koomurri Aboriginal Centre where you have plenty of time to see a corroboree, look around the art and artifacts shops and maybe try painting with ochre on their painting wall. This fascinating visit rounds off the day before you depart the mountains and return to the city after a complete day of experiences. Tour Duration: 10 Hours. Includes Lunch.

Day 5. Cruise Sydney harbour
Cruising on Sydney Harbour is a quintessential Australian experience. 'Cruise like a local' aboard your own luxurious 52' Pacific Motor Cruiser, an intimate and personal way to explore Sydney Harbour. Your 4 hour cruise never has more than 10 guests and offers fabulous sightseeing opportunities and you can tailor your own itinerary with fishing, kayaking, swimming or just relax and sunbathe. A gourmet three course BBQ lunch with regional wines and beer is included as well as all on board activities. Cruise duration: 4 hours. Includes: Skipper and deckhand/host onboard, gourmet BBQ lunch with wine and beers.

Day 6. Backstage Tour of the Sydney Opera House
This intimate 2-hour tour grants you exclusive access to areas normally reserved for the stars and their crew. You can stand on the Concert Hall stage, where some of the world's performing legends, such as Dame Joan Sutherland, Blondie, Pavarotti, and John Farnham have stood. You'll have the opportunity to take up the conductor's baton in the Opera Theatre orchestra pit.

You'll peek inside the stars' dressing rooms, explore the scenery dock and fly towers, and, naturally, you''ll get to hear all the secrets and real-life dramas that go on behind the curtain.

This Tour starts early to ensure best access, before the working day starts for technical crews bumping in. You will enjoy a full breakfast in the Green Room, the private domain to performers and staff, where you can reflect, take in the atmosphere, and ask the guide any further questions. Tour duration: 2 ½ hours

Essential Sydney Sightseeing
Your tour today will start in your hotel lobby where your guide will meet you before showing you through the historic Rocks precinct. Witness the birth place of Sydney and explore the convict built cottages, pubs and the first church in Australia. Then head east and make your way to the stunning botanical gardens situated right in the heart of Sydney. En route you pass through Macquarie Street named after the fifth Governor of New South Wales, Lachlan Macquarie. Here you will see Australia's first Parliament House, Mint, Hyde Park Barracks and St Mary's Cathedral. The tour continues onto Mrs Macquarie's Chair situated on the water's edge, here you will enjoy a walking tour of the harbour's edge with magnificent views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House before rejoining your vehicle. Continue through Woolloomooloo, Kings Cross and into Rushcutters bay. It's here you stop to enjoy a lunch at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Australia's premier yacht club and home to what is considered yachting's 'Everest' - the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Continue on through Darling Point, one of Sydney's most affluent suburbs and see some of Sydney's most sought after addresses. Pass by Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and Watsons Bay, before traversing along the coastline to Sydney's most famous beach, Bondi Beach. Here you will have some time to soak up the atmosphere of this beachside Mecca. Stroll down the esplanade with the locals and maybe enjoy an ice cream before re-boarding your vehicle. Make your way back to Sydney via the vibrant Oxford Street and the suburb of Paddington; admire this boutique shopping precinct and the charming Georgian and Victorian architecture of the homes. Arriving back at your hotel you will have enjoyed a great day out seeing some of Sydney's best kept secrets and having taken some fantastic photos. Tour Duration: 4.5 Hours

Day 7. Sydney to Melbourne
Transfer to the airport by private vehicle for the short flight to Melbourne. On arrival you are transferred to your accommodation at the Langham Hotel.

Simply stated, Melbourne is friendly elegance. Enjoy Melbourne's Old World charm and sophisticated elegance, as you stroll through formal gardens, boat on the lazy Yarra River, wander down broad, tree-lined avenues, admire stately buildings, or shop in the fine boutiques. There is a wonderfully friendly welcome found in the charming sidewalk cafes, the delightful trams, and the streets and markets of distinctive ethnic neighbourhoods. This is especially so in the boisterous crowds at an Aussie Rules Football match. Melbourne is a reflection of them all; a financial centre, a haven for theatre and fine arts, a culinary mecca, a multicultural gathering place, and a crazed sports capital.

Day 8. Yarra Valley Wine Experience
You start this experience by travelling past the sporting precinct that became famous in the 1956 Olympic Games and now roars to the cheers of Aussie Rules crowds each weekend. See the nearby Rod Laver Tennis Centre that hosts the Australian Tennis Open each year as well as the world famous MCG which has hosted most of the major events that have come to this city. You take a drive to the Italian precinct of Lygon Street in Carlton and see the historic Exhibition Buildings alongside the ultramodern Melbourne Museum. Travelling along the beach road you pass through Port Melbourne, soon arriving at St Kilda. Your guide will take you for a lap of the Australian Grand Prix track at Albert Park Lake before making a stop at the Queen Victoria Market. (The market is closed on Monday, Wednesday, Good Friday, Anzac Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day). Soon you head down to the historic town of Williamstown, here you can enjoy breathtaking views of Melbourne's city skyline through the masts of bobbing boats on the foreshore. Morning tea will be amongst the glorious colours and smells of the Botanical Gardens. A true haven within a busy city and a peaceful way to finish off your time in Melbourne. Tour length 4 Hours

Day 9. Wildlife Walkabout Full Day tour
In small groups this naturalist guided ecotour gives you quality time to learn about wildlife and enjoy the wide open spaces of Australia. Get close to kangaroos, koalas and abundant birdlife in the wild. Our special Koala Research Project ensures that we often have multiple sightings of these delightful creatures in the wild. A delicious bush lunch is included. On this naturalist-guided ecotour, spend the morning in the famous grasslands and around the billabongs of our Open-range Sanctuary in the company of hundreds of wild Kangaroos, dozens of Emus and many species of birds. Day 10. Melbourne's Lanes and Arcades PLUS Feature Dinner
Have you ever been to a city and wondered what all the fuss was about? Or wasted time trying to find that cool local cafe you were told of, and ended up missing everything? Melbourne's arcades and laneways hide many of these answers. Join this indulgent morning walk through Melbourne's beautiful back streets, and get orientated in the life of the city that locals love. Discover local designers and specialty retailers that often are only found in the city. Some of the quirkiest cafes, independent designers, street art, architecture, and historical tales are found in these walkways, there is something for everyone, locals and visitors alike. Morning tea is included before a restaurant lunch with a glass of wine. See over 30 stores on this casual stroll and return to those you like best in the afternoon: make a day of it in Marvellous Melbourne.

Tonight is a special treat with dinner aboard the Colonial Tramcar, a refurbished tramcar that will unveil Melbourne's sites as you enjoy a 3-course dinner.

Dining in Melbourne can be a fabulous experience, especially aboard the fleet of historical trams that have become The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. These glossy, burgundy restaurants on wheels are the first travelling tramcar restaurants in the world and ensure a delightful innovative approach to dining. As they cruise the scenic streets of Melbourne, diners can enjoy fine cuisine and drink the very best of Australian wines or make a selection from the fully stocked bar at a fully inclusive price. The atmosphere is cosy, the service friendly and the decor as inviting as the colonial period these trams reflect.

Dinner is from 5:45 pm to 7:15 pm. Includes: Appetizer, Main, Dessert, selected red and white wines, alcoholic beverages from the bar, coffee and tea, liqueurs and traveling tram throughout the city and suburbs.

Day 11. Melbourne to Vancouver
